Kendal MSRT is funded entirely from donations. It costs around £50,000 per year to run the team

Since 1953, Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue team has been searching for and helping those in difficulty

More than mountains

Kendal MSRT assists the emergency services in a variety of ways, including urban searches and swift water rescue

Volunteers

Every team member is a volunteer. Members have to train, check equipment and fundraise; all in addition to rescuing people from the hill

Regular training

The team train together at least twice a month, with further courses in specialist areas. We train a wide range of skills from medical care to off road driving

Vehicles

The team has 2 Land Rovers, 1 Toyota Hilux and a Ford Transit forward control vehicle

Hillgoing members

The team aims to have 40 members at any one time, although this can fluctuate.

We are being called out more and more. 2015 was a record for us
