On Sunday, 28th September, family, friends and employees of Tim Newburn who was the pilot of the helicopter which crashed at Sillfield Farm near Gatebeck on the 3rd August last year killing all on board, visited Kendal Mountain Rescue Base to present a cheque for almost £2800 to the Team as a gesture of thanks for recovering the bodies. Tim Newburn’s brother Kim, Kim's son Richard and Newburn employees Alex Watson, Dave Morris and Dale Marsh cycled from Bradford to the crash site to raise the money. More than 60 people had gathered at the site where a stone was placed as a memorial to the four men who were killed.
