Equipment

Our equipment is constantly under review. Much of the equipment has a limited lifespan (e.g. medicine and ropes) necessitating automatic replacement, or requires regular servicing incurring costs. And we are always looking at new equipment to make our job on the hill safer and more efficient.

The equipment & medical group meet monthly to ensure all equipment is checked and in working order, a card index system is in place to regulate all current equipment and to keep up to date records of checks.

2008 was a particularly busy year as all climbing gear was replaced, we also introduced a new system of carrying medical equipment to incorporate recently acquired portable Defibrillators, and this means that we have a defibrillator on the hill all the time while on rescues.

The group worked closely during 2009 with the vehicle group to ensure all required equipment could be fitted into our new Land Rover.

We are always looking at ways of funding equipment to ease the burden on our support team who collect money, if you feel you can help please consider sponsoring a piece of equipment.
